Modification of Nonlinear Filters for Image Enhancement

Abstract

An alternative two-dimensional filter is developed based on the use of Teager energy operator. Application of the filter to image enhancement is optimized through varying the value of a phase angle present in its formula. Experimental results suggest the credibility and suitability of the developed filter.
